Communication is an art of subtlety.

No, I’m not talking about Equestria Girls this week. Let’s save that for next week. Good lord, let’s save that for next week.

I always love putting together a good SFR-style comic. This one almost had text, something I really wanted to avoid with my SFR pony comics, but Jet eventually talked me out of it. I feel it’s better for it. Or at least consistent for it. Plus, hey, the return of Milton, everyone’s favorite fictional Hasbro exec!

I picked up the newer small Applejack figure with the hat during Free Comic Book Day two weeks ago. If there’s one thing I will never, NEVER understand, it’s Hasbro’s adamancy against giving Applejack a proper hat. It would be one thing if they only included the hat within the confines of the show, but it’s also in practically every piece of character art too! It’s on the bloody packaging for the toy itself! There should, at the very least, be priority for the characters’ key accessories before you start throwing in bizarre extras like transparent puppies or an apple-shaped car.

I actually made her a hat months before I picked up the weird green one. It was a delusional time when I still believed I would be able to style their hair to match the show. A.J. herself didn’t turn out too bad, and she remains the only attempt that I keep on display with my others.

I did decide to paint the “official” hat to an appropriate color, although part of me wants to just go back to my fabric one. Mine may not be of the highest quality, but it’s still A.J.’s hat, not some odd pretender.

Now pardon me while I put various things on Applejack’s head.
